I found my password!
Yeah, I accidently lost my password for this thing, which is part of the reason’s for the lack of updates lately.
The other reason is that life has been insanely busy. I’ve had quite a few extra things from work to do, then there’s the housework and hanging out with friends/family. The best part is, it makes time fly thats for sure.
Just got back from spending the weekend on the gold coast with a friend of ours, it was fabulous to get away for a few days. I felt like I had so much energy when I was there compared to how i’d been feeling the week before – very tired and sluggish.
Not much planned for this week but this weekend will be fabulous! a good friend is having a pj party for her 30th…girls only! there’ll be booze, there’ll be chick flicks, there will probably even be rounds of “sing star” on the playstation (karaoke type game) which when combined with the booze will be hillarious. Roll on the good times 
I’m kinda excited about halloween this year, we’ve stocked up and got candy in case neighbourhood kids do trick or treating i don’t think i’ll be dressing up this year but it still looks to be a good night anyway
anyway I should go get some sleep, its been a full on day today.

a bit slack at updating huh?
Yes I know I know, I’m slack at updating this thing.
Anyways in good news, things are going a lot better. This week has been a bit rough but everything’s getting sorted and hopefully *fingers crossed* will be running smoother for here on out.
First day of work went really well. In fact I’ve got work tomorrow and i’m praying things run as smoothly as they did on monday. In other news they gave me another day’s work (wednesday) this week so YAY.
in other news…dinner’s ready and i’m going to go watch a dvd (yay for our video store and its “recharge your cell phone here and get a free new release rental!”)
Getting Ready
I’ve been busy getting things ready to start work on monday! To be honest i’m a bit nervous but hey thats normal right? its been a few years since i’ve been able to work and i’ll be fine once i get there and get into the swing of things. I’ve only got 2 locations for my first week so things should go good.
Just went online and sat my e-learning test, its pretty simple but just generally goes over the ideas about who to interview, rules and regulations etc. I scored 90% so yay me. There was only one question that I got wrong, I picked “all 3″ rather than the one specific one they’re after – oh well. I know what I need to do when it comes to that part of the job so its all good.
Spent the afternoon watching dvd’s. I finally saw “Ned Kelly” with Heath Ledger! wow that was a very awesome (and sad) movie. We also watched swordfish and now we’re about to watch “Hellboy” (dad hasn’t seen it before). I’m very interested in the new hellboy movie (only a few weeks until its released) which looks to be amazing. Loved the first one so i’m hoping the second lives up to it. I’m also excited about the new “The Mummy” movie but i’m sad that Rachel Weiss wont be staring as Evelyn, oh well.
Well i guess I’m going to go help with dinner, i’ll write again soon! xoxox
Good News
And now, its time for some good news – I got the interviewer/market research position!!!! YAY i’m really excited. Training starts tomorrow, and i’m looking forward to it. I have my first location on Monday 1st September.
In other news… well to be honest thats really all thats been going on lately. The phone book thing, that was interesting – I was damn tired after 5hrs thats for sure.
I was invited to go see the Picasso Exhibit on Friday night, i’m pretty excited actually. Its the first time these works have been on display outside of its home in the Louvre .. ever!! and its only here for a couple more weeks. I don’t know much about him, on general stuff but i’m looking forward to it – i love looking at art. Makes me wish I’d continued with Art History class in high school.
Well I’m gonna get going I’ve got a few things to do online before dinner (early one tonight, so I can help do the paper route)
It Went…
The interview went well, i should know in a few days whether they want to hire me or not. They seemed very interested and I think I did well. It was a group interview, there were 5 of us in total but it was relaxed and friendly. Fingers crossed! I’ll be calling the bookstore tomorrow to see whats happening there as well. I also applied for another library job today, fingers crossed.
Now back to watching “Dexter: Season 2″ on DVD!
Tired
Today’s been a busy one, thats for sure. I helped J with her paper route, which took us about an hour and a half this afternoon, then after dinner she calls me up to ask if i want to help her with a few more streets – I figured why not and tagged along. All up I think we walked for about 2hrs today and damn am I tired.
We’re looking at doing the telephone book delivery thing as well, its 25cents per phone book so between 5 of us we can cover a really good area in no time. She’s meeting with the guy this week, fingers crossed it goes well and we get this going soon.
Watched an amazing movie today (”PS: I love you”) its a romantic comedy (and I do mean comedy, i almost fell off the couch laughing at some points) but its quite sad and romantic at the same time. Its worth checking out though if you’re into these kinds of movies – even if you’re not, give it a chance you wont be sorry.
Interview tomorrow, i’m a bit nervous but really excited at the same time! I’ll let you know how it goes when I get home.

Sleepy eyed
Yup i’m a bit sleepy eyed this morning. I got a phone call about an hour ago from a potential employer. He was quite amusing actually. He opened with. “blah blah blah I called becaused the first thing that jumped out at me was that you’re from christchurch – i’m from there too so that gives me a warm fuzzy feeling.” to which he went to explain that wasn’t the only thing about me that they liked lol (thank goodness for that huh?) they were very excited about my radio/advertising experience. He mentioned they were keen to use me for the position that starts in sept but they had another one now – but you’re required to spend the day driving from place to place checking up on clients (he never mentioned company car nor reinbursements) so i don’t feel bad telling him that I don’t have my licence yet (i’m working on it though!).
I also found out yesterday that the bookstore that I interviewed with a few times has another position available, so I called her and sent my resume through again, Fingers crossed with that one – she said she’s got to talk to her supervisor to let her know i’m still looking. Apparently when they first knew about it the chick at the bookstore said to her manager about me, but the manager said i’d probably already have a job by now (ha! nope still looking).
So i’ve got two very positive things on the go at the moment. I’m going to get one of them
In other news, its cold (its australia people its not meant to get cold!) and i’m going to go curl up on the couch with some toast and a book for a bit before i get stuck in on the housework for today.
Proper update
Yeah I guess its about time I did a decent update huh? And if you’re good enough I might even add photos (of what i’m not sure but i’ve got plenty on my flash drive (little computer storage thing) that i could show off to ya.
Work: Still looking for a job. I’m calling about some telemarketing jobs on monday so fingers crossed. I have a feeling the fact I don’t have any references (except personal references) in the country isn’t helping my cause. Its not going to stop me from trying. I’m waiting to hear from mcdonalds, hungry jacks and pizza hutt so fingers crossed on those. I dont want a hugely important job, I just want a job. I miss being able to work (as odd as that sounds). I did have a one off day of work last week. 5hrs, in the rain unloading a container from a truck that had been involved in an accident. The cargo? 13kg (about 28lb) boxes of bananas!!!! oh it was a fun day thats for sure lol. In fact I think that might be part of the reason i’m sick now – my clothes were so soaked by the end of the day it wasn’t funny.
Weather: We’ve had some weird weather over the past week or so and word is that we’ll be getting more over the next week, so fingers crossed its nothing too severe. The rain is definitely welcomed thats for sure.
Movies: Seen a couple of good ones this week. I rented “The Other Boelyn Girl” which was amazing. I loved it! I wasn’t sure whether to read the book series by Phillipa Gregory or not but I’m definitely thinking that might be a good idea now. We also got “The Spiderwick Chronicles” which was really awesome as well. I love fantasy movies like that, they’re so much fun, again not one that i’ve read the books for but still a good movie on its own.
Jasper: Poor dog had a visit to the vet this week, he had a bite on his back that wouldn’t heal. The vet seems to think it was green ants (?) so he’s got some antibiotics and some cream to numb the area so he wont itch it. He’s doing a lot better now so much so that the dog groomer will be here on tuesday to give him a bath and clip so he’s not so hot in his winter coat.
All In all things are going good, still a bit frustrated at the job situation but i’m trying my hardest, and every other day i’m on the job sites sending my resume in, and checking positions on various sites that don’t use sites like seek.com.au. (Which rocks btw). Everyone here’s happy and doing fine. In fact Patrick and I have been invited to a friend’s place on the coast for the weekend next weekend! i’m really looking forward to it (and don’t worry i’ll have my camera with me thats for darn sure!) so lots of photos and such. We’re planning on baking tiramasu (sp?) which should be fun – i’ve never tried one let alone attempted to make one lol.

Apparently today will be cold with thundery showers! hehe i’m waiting for it lol cos it looks a bit too bright outside to rain just yet, that could change though. I love rain, and i especially love thunder hehehe. It is however not that warm outside so my fingers are crossed.
I did get my call from the one job that had two positions, i didn’t get either unfortunately. My biggest problem is that i don’t have any references in australia – they’re all in america or new zealand. So I’m looking into volunteering for a wee bit just to get back in the swing of things and to get references etc here. Its an idea anyway.
We’ve been watching tv series online the past couple of days, so now we’re caught up with the end of season 5 of NCIS, and i’m watching “ghost whisperer” from the beginning (since i’ve only just gotten into it), and they have things like gilmore girls, monk, supernatural, and many many more. We’re using “Project Free TV” check it out!
4yr wedding anniversary
Yup thats right, today is our 4 year wedding anniversary! go us One of the best decisions i’ve made in my life to date. Here’s to many more happy years together.
